Party Poker

Party Poker is currently the fourth-largest online poker room in the world. PartyPoker.com is owned by the BWin company out of Gibraltar and is publicly traded on the London Stock Exchange. Before the US passed the UIGEA law in 2006, Party Poker was the world’s largest online gaming site. Combined with the money brought in by the Bet-and-Win sports betting website, the BWin/Party Poker combination remains the largest gaming firm.

Party Poker offers a lot of payment options, an easy-to-understand rewards system for frequent players, and a lot of promotions on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.

Party Poker Event Schedule

Every single day of the year, Party Poker offers several different types of tournament events. Card players at Party Poker have their choice from each of these tournaments, allowing you to play in big weekly tournaments, games that take an hour or so, or special tourney scenarios that spice up an otherwise conventional night of cards.

Sit-n-Go Single Table Tournaments
Multi-Table Tournaments
Shootouts (modified multi-tables)
Heads-Up Events
Shootout Satellites
Bounty Tournaments

Sit-&-Go events are one table tournaments you can play in an hour or two, for those days and nights you don’t have the time to play in a big multi-table event. Online multi-table tournaments are similar to the big tournaments you’ll see on the Poker Channel or ESPN’s World Series of Poker coverage, with large pools of entrants and big jackpots for the winners.

Shootout tournaments don’t collapse tables as soon as a multi-table event. In a shootout, a table isn’t combined with others until you’re to the final three. In the first three rounds, these players move on, while receiving some prize money. Heads-up tournaments let you go head to head one round after another, letting those who specialize in beating one opponent at a time the chance to shine. Bounty tournaments gives players money for knocking out Party Poker’s professionals who are playing in the tournament.

Party Poker Promotions

Party Poker also offers a number of special promotions which are among the highest prize pools in online poker. There are a lot of options, so you should be able to find the games you want. Watch out for the bonus codes on the freerolls, because you continuing players might find codes that only work for newly-admitted players.

Party Poker Initial Deposit Bonus

The welcome bonus at Party Poker is worth a maximum of $500. This amount ranks as one of the smaller sign-up bonuses among Internet card rooms, though this would have been considered a large bonus 5 years ago. I don’t place a whole lot of weight on these bonus promotions, but many players do.

My argument is that signup bonus usually is cancelled out by the withdrawal specifications, so I don’t worry about them too much. The Party Poker bonus requires you to accumulate Party Poker Points to withdraw the bonus money. Due to the house edge and the playthrough requirements, you’re likely to blow through the bonus before you can withdraw any of it.
